Faithfulness…

Joseph sat in a cold stone prison cell. What had he done? Why had his brothers sold him to slavery? Why was he convicted of assaulting his employer’s wife when really he ran away and was innocent? What had he done to be awarded such cruel treatment, abuse and neglect?

Only time would tell what God had planned for him and in the midst of the weeks and months and years that he sat in his cell, worry, doubt and fear may have paid visits but Joseph, from beginning to end, remained steadfast, devoted, committed, faithful to his God.

When we think about faithfulness as a mark of the Spirit of Christ in us we think about being trustworthy, reliable, constant, loyal, devoted, unswerving, true, committed, devoted, dependable.

I cannot love like Jesus loves unlessHe loves through me.I cannot know joy in the midst of suffering like Jesus knew joy unlessHe produces joy through me.

In the midst of the storms and squalls of life I will not know a peace that passes understanding and rest like Jesus restedunless He brings peace in me, the outcome of His Spirit alive in me working His way out.

I cannot experience the supernatural patience, kindness, generosity anddevotionthat mirrors Jesusunless He walks it out through me.

In the midst of the storms of life the only way I will be devoted, full of faith in Gods care and plan is by being guided, directed, submitted to the Spirit of God in me. To do this I must apprehend the faithfulness of God, empowered to be faithful to Him and those around me.

How do you describe someone who is faithful?

What would have been the outcome if Joseph did not flee?

What keeps you from trusting and being faithful to  Christ and the Christian journey?
