When we open the book of John, we read in Chapter 1; "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Further; "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made." In Verse 14, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
The Apostle Paul writes; "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist." The Bible clearly declares that Jesus was the Creator and continues to be. He is The Great I Am. He came as the only way for us to be restored to fellowship with God through the physical sacrifice of His human life. His resurrection after dying proves His Creatorship and authenticates Who He is. Certainly He had human attributes while He was among us, but He also retained the power of His Creation attributes. It is hard for man's finite mind to grasp this concept, so Jesus demonstrated it for us all to see. He wearied, He hungered, and He experienced both sadness and joy. He was teacher by example, and disappointed by our failure to grasp concepts. He underwent severe physical agony in His 'trial' and crucifixion. But, He also demonstrated His Creative power all along the way to affirm who He was. He ruled nature while He walked through His ministry here on earth. The storms obeyed Him. Why did the sea and the winds change under His commands? It is because they were subject to His creative power from the beginning. And, His commands were instantly obeyed. When He turned the water into wine, the wine was created instantly without going through the normal process of growing, harvesting, crushing, and fermenting. Water is a simple compound of oxygen and hydrogen, but wine is made of quite complex organic molecules. We read of His creating food to feed multitudes when there was none. We read in the Gospel of John, Chapter 9 that He gave sight to a blind man who had been blind since birth, yet when the man began to see he understood what it was that he was seeing. There seemed to be no learning curve and he was acting like a normal person. The issue became not that he could see, but how, because he had been blind since birth. Jesus also brought people who had died back to life. Both the death and the new life were in front of many witnesses. To understand what He did among humans should bring us to realize that it is He that has the power to create from nothing and then we should have no longer any doubt about His abilities as recorded in the early chapters of Genesis.
