Christian Faith is much more than wishful thinking. In fact, God's Word explains it as confident expectation of things not yet seen. If there is one thing that pleases God, it is genuine faith. The writer to the early Jewish Christians makes this very clear. Why would genuine faith please God? Because it opens the channel for Him to accomplish His will in and through our lives... His will which is good, acceptable and perfect. The Old Testament Saints received divine approval as they lived in faith and stepped out in faith. They serve as great examples for us and a key ingredient to our growth. Christian faith becomes real in our lives when we 1. Hear the message (Rom. 10:17) 2. Receive the gift of faith (Eph. 2:8,9) 3. And when we choose to exercise our faith and grow in it (Romans 4:20,21). Genuine faith grows like a muscle when it is exercised. When a muscle lays dormant, it atrophies... When our faith goes untested or applied, it weakens. Because we forget just how faithful is the one who promises (See I Thessalonians 5:24) So who or what are you trusting in? In whom are you placing your faith for your place of residence beyond the grave? There is only one who rose from the dead on the third day! He is interceding for His people and He invites you to "Believe in God... and believe also in Him... See John 14:1). You will never regret it and you will find your reason for living... and dying... to be born to eternal life. |
