Definitions and meaning vary with every new song that reaches the ITUNEs and CD market. God's heart is revealed to all creation at Bethlehem by his divine attribute of love being seen in taking on human flesh. He did not stay distant and aloof. He made himself known. He then demonstrated his divine love by living a compassionate life and dying a sacrificial death; taking the punishment of humanity's sinful ways. No Bethlehem, no cross, no resurrection and no love come down. The wonderful news of Christmas is that even though God does not OWE us heaven, he lovingly OFFERS us heaven through faith in his love gift to humanity in Christ.
