RI Missions Trip

Providence, RI - Short Term Mission Opportunity

July 30 - August 5 the Missions Board and our SOHL ministry are providing a unique opportunity for a short-term mission’s trip to Providence, RI. We will be partnering with Jenny and Johnny Ames and the West End Community Church. This trip will provide exposure to different ministries in the Providence area such as Grace’s House, the Providence Rescue Mission, and working with the West End Church in various residential improvement and relational opportunities. You will get an insight into the different cultures right to our south.  Our goals will be:

1)    To support the West End Church in its ministries

2)    To provide outreach opportunities

3)    To provide church bonding activities

4)    To provide opportunities for personal spiritual growth

5)    To see God’s hand at work

We are inviting singles, couples and families, minimum age 12 years. The total cost for this will be $250 per person. This is an amazing chance for you or your family to experience God’s grace in action and be a part of the great commission. It is an opportunity to help those in need and bring back the excitement of seeing God work through you personally.

If interested or for more information, please contact Sandy Burke, Christina Patton or members of the Missions Board or SOHL ministry. We will be having an informational meeting soon. We are very excited about this opportunity for our church and hope you will prayerfully consider if God is calling you to join us.

Give It a Rest

6/4/17 Give It a Rest: Mark 3:1-33

How often do you hear someone say out of exasperation, “Give it a rest”?

We may hear that expression but it’s more out of irritation than well wishing. In our hearts we may respond, “I would love to take a rest.”

Too Good for Jesus?

Note: Due to technical difficulties, the audio quality for this recording is less than normal. Our apologies.

Some people think they’re too good for Jesus. Some think they’re good enough for him, while deciding who also belongs and who doesn’t. “Minor” sins are common enough, so we easily overlook those. But criminals, terrorists, and cheats… no way!
